RIPA Engineering supports recyclers, plant operators, converters, packaging companies and industrial partners in understanding why a material stream does not yet deliver the required recycling quality - and which technical steps may be needed to change that.

We do not replace machinery suppliers. We define the process logic required to make purification, separation and recycling work together.

What RIPA Engineering Means

RIPA Engineering is the technical assessment and optimisation of recycling processes for complex plastic waste streams.


It connects material analysis, purification experience and process understanding. The objective is to identify whether a recycling problem comes from the material itself, from missing treatment steps or from the sequence of the existing process.


In many cases, recycling does not fail because the material is impossible. It fails because the process is not aligned with the material problem.

Where Engineering Starts

Engineering starts when a customer needs more than a simple laboratory result.


A small test can show whether a material can be cleaned, separated or upgraded. Verification documents the technical result. Engineering goes further: it looks at how this result can become part of a real process chain

This may include the review of:

  • sorting

  • shredding

  • washing

  • drying

  • purification

  • separation

  • filtration

  • extrusion

  • quality control

RIPA Engineering helps answer questions such as:

 

  • Why does the existing recycling process still produce low-value material?

  • Where are odour, ink, aluminium, coating, plasticizers or residues blocking higher-value reuse?

  • Is the critical problem being treated too late in the process?

  • Does the process need an additional purification or separation step?

  • Is further testing required before larger quantities are processed?

Engineering Services

From Testing to Implementation

RIPA does not treat testing as an isolated service.

 

Testing answers whether a specific material transformation is technically possible. Engineering answers how this transformation can become part of a practical recycling pathway.

 

This is especially relevant for multilayer packaging, printed films, odour-contaminated plastics, aluminium-containing structures, coated parts, cable plastics, PVC compounds and other material streams where standard mechanical recycling reaches its limits.
